destinations

earlier this year...

I deleted my Instagram. It wasn't

a difficult decision. I believe that

pictures are meant to be seen on

an artistically significant medium;

whether that be a canvas, print or

the less ideal but easily

accessible: webpage. Instagram

challenges this idea and replaces

it with small, scaled-down images

with lower resolutions. Beautiful

landscapes, portraits and digital

illustrations are reduced to 4x5

inch formats. During my hiatus, it

took me six months to realize this.

But with a newfound approach to

storytelling, I recently reactivated

my account. For those struggling

with social media, I realized that

when you take yourself out of the

medium and utilize it as a platform

to showcase art instead of selfies,

the pressure disappears.

The most important things in my

life are my family, friends, travel

and photography. My list is so

simple that it deserves a simple,

artistic accompaniment: this page.

"Destinations" is for my family &

friends who wish to see my work

in a format that compliments—

instead of detracts from—

photography. I'm not a fan of

blogs, so this is my take on a

slightly unconventional exhibition

of images from my latest

travels. With all this being said,

welcome!
